"Dear Congressman/Congresswoman, I'm writing to urge you and
every member of the Congressional Black Caucus to help protect Internet freedom by
publicly supporting strong network neutrality rules. Internet freedom is essential to the Internet's diversity,
and has enabled it to serve Black people and other
historically marginalized communities in unique
and powerful ways. Without it, the thousands of blogs,
online businesses, news sites, and advocacy organizations
that cater to our communities would likely suffer
— and some would not have a chance. I'm disappointed and outraged that some members of
the Congressional Black Caucus have joined the big phone
and cable companies in their efforts to undermine
Internet freedom and establish a system where
they can make greater profits by acting as gatekeepers over
what we see and do online. Every member of Congress
should support Internet freedom, especially those
who claim to represent Black communities. Sincerely,"
Sheila T Jordan..
